As the people of Ijebu land makes it to another prestigious festival called ‘Ojude Oba’ it is apparent that the indigenes from all over the world took it so important by making an annual home coming to perform the usual rights that has been existing over hundred years.

 

Ojude Oba 2013 in a remarkable sights and sounds has the normal proceeding to the festival activities exactly two days after the Muslims’ Ileya celebration. Thursday October 17, marked the day for 2013 Ojude Oba festival. The order of program went thus:

Regberegbe Procession/Competition - 8:30am

Balogun Procession/Competition - 11:30am

Royal Banquet - 2:00pm

The event venue was the Oba Sikiru Adetona Pavilion, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State Nigeria.

Responding to this heritage series were dignitaries of elites and multinational organizations of pronounced names such as GLO, FCMB, BallyKleff Entertainment, BallyWalls Integrated, MTN, Dejimanaire King Entertainment, Lead Mobile and host of others.

 
 

On the course of the event, Dejimanaire King Entertainment representative took a little segment into the happenings of the festival and had a patch compilations of some interesting views of the activities and also witnessed some pre-activities with the Balogun ‘Odunuga’ family and BallyKleff Entertainment during the festive period.

On Tuesday 15th October 2013 BallyKleff Entertainment organized a music show at Arcade Hall, Ijebu Ode which hosted a popular Fuji Music artiste goes by the name Sule Alao Malaika. The prominent fuji artiste attracted a lot of people and most especially his fan club members. The show started 11:30pm with soft instrumental play by his band members which gave a smooth entry into the show. Sule Alao Malaika got on stage few minutes after 12:00am to do what he knows how to do best. His fans could not wait to see him on stage. At the sound of his voice, the entire hall was electrified with the hailing noise of his fans. The show which was the talk of the town witnessed the presence of notable personalities such has DECO who was escorted by mobile police men to the show, Tunde a Nigerian based in Texas, U.S.A, Mr lanre Shittu and his wife Hadijat Oritoke and children came all the way from U.K, Engineer Ganiyu Adekunle Balogun was present, also was Chikudi an international trader was also there to show is love for the artiste. The show continued until 5:00am having everyone totally exhausted. It was indeed a mind blowing performance by the artiste. Everyone returned to their various places having been fun filled while we also went to the guest house where we lodged, opposite Muslim Comprehensive College, Ijebu Ode.

It was another opportunity to attend in the family dinner of the founder and chairman FCMB (First City Monument Bank), Otunba Subomi Balogun. Otunba Subomi Balogunon the eve of Ojude Oba welcomed his family and friends to the dinner. This is an opportunity to unite with his family and friends, also an avenue to take a break off the busy schedules. This activity takes place yearly just like the annual Ojude Oba festival. It was awesome at the dinner having had lots of food and drinks to satisfy our stomachs. Also during the dinner, the C.E.O BallyWalls Integrated, Olawale Balogunspoke on how delighted he is to partake in another dinner, he also spoke on progress so far since the last dinner and he finally introduced drummers and dance troupe who performed during the dinner. The atmosphere was filled with joy. Indeed, it was a great time at the dinner. 

On the main day of Ojude Oba, BallyKleff Entertainment had spurring tremendeous innovative goods at their stand. They showcased a new Mobile Phone brand called ‘LEAD Mobile’ having different styles and models ranging from dual sims phones to Android powered software phones and others. Also on their stand were Ice Cream machine, exotic views of liquor and soft beverages for interested customers willing to have a feel of these goods.

Interestingly at their stand during the peak of the festival, cool DJ Sexy/DJ Murphy attracted virtually everyone who passed, having heard the music been played.  DJ Sexy’s experience on the wheels aroused pedestrian causing most of them to show off their dancing skills without shame of who is watching them. It is no doubt that DJ Sexy is a world class DJ who supplies exact musics for the moment.

Dejimanaire King Entertainment representative was able to spot the presence of celebrities and other successful personalities in the entertainment industry. Amongst them were T.Y Bello, a professional photographer and the musician who sang the song ‘The land is green’also Biola Balogun A.K.A SlimBallyan artiste with lots of awesome vibes was also spotted. The likes of these dignitaries were so many in which all cannot be mentioned.

Some people finds it imperative when Ojude Oba is mentioned to always talk about a unique brand; this brand is associated with the son of Ijebu land who goes by the name Mike Adenugathe C.E.O GLO mobile network. On entering into Ijebu Ode, the city was filled with colorful advert of GLO network as a symbol of recognition. GLO recorded success during the festival by giving away cash and material prices in the festival competitions. Also GLO invited top entertainment music stars to perform on the grand stage. International award winner star, Wande Colewas the main artiste for Ojude Oba 2013.

As it was written at the beginning that this is just a patch compilation, it is on this note that we shall be drawing a cotton to the close of this report. Finally, comment must be made about the attitudes of the resident of Ijebu ode which was quite acceptable, they were welcoming however, some stubborn youths were present though their anti-social activities were curbed by the professional security officials.
