Chelsea are now in front position to sign Bayern Munich’s striker, Robert Lewandowski, after Real Madrid pulled out of the race.
Real pulled out of the race to sign Lewandowski because the Poland international did not perform better against the Los Blancos during Bayern’s Champions League semi-final clash last month, Express, UK, reports.
According to the British newspaper, Chelsea now have a free run at the 29-year-old, who has enjoyed a prolific season with the Bavarians in the Bundesliga.
The report claims that the Blues wants Alvaro Morata to leave the North London club after a disappointing debut season at Stamford Bridge and have identified Lewandowski as the perfect replacement.
Lewandowski, who won the Bundesliga Golden Boot, has scored 29 league goals for Bayern this season.
Bayern will not let Lewandowski leave on the cheap and are likely to demand a fee upwards of £80million for the striker.
