Stakeholders Discuss Security Issues in Ota
At a 2-day event tagged Ado-Odo/Ota Security Summit which took place at Covenant University Ota, stakeholders discussed security issues. Cybercrime, Cultism, Terrorism, Border Control, Sexual and Gender Based Violence top the list of topics discussed at the summit which had the Police, NSCDC, FRSC, Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Navy and other security experts as facilitators.
The event which was powered by Phembuk Communications, a consultancy firm managed by Bolaji Femi was put together to address security challenges in Ado-Odo/ Local Government and sensitize all stakeholders on their role in ensuring a safe and sane community.
The Area Commander of the Nigeria Police, Ota Command, ACP Monday Agbonika spoke on the Menace of Sexual Abuse and how it can be curbed. ACC Ganiyu Akeem, the Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ota sensitised the participants on the need to ensure safe driving.
In his closing remark, the convener, Femi Bolaji charged the participants to serve as an agent of change in their various sectors. He admonished them to make use of the knowledge they have acquired during the summit for the betterment of the society.
Present at the programme are Community Leaders, School and Business owners, representatives of Licensed Private Security Firm, So Safe Corps and Political office holders.
