The Chairman Transition Committee of Imeko-Afon Local Government has set short and medium term goals. Chief Olusola Ajani Oke led Committee has highlighted Roads Grading, Electrification, Education, Health & Water Supply as major agenda of the committee.
The Council Boss stressed the need to urgently embark on massive road grading across the 10 Wards of the Local Government. In his words, "before the rains, we need to as a matter of urgency grade major roads across the Local Government and open some other access roads" he said.
The Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) Mr Ogunjobi Segun, had earlier led the new Transition Committee to inspect Graders, Tractors and Caterpillars owned by the Local Government in preparation for the roads grading.
Chief Olusola Ajani Oke, a retired employee of the defunct NEPA reiterated his commitment to rural and urban electrification across Imeko-Afon Local Government. According to him, "where we need to energise the available Transformers, we will do so and where we need to extend poles to, we will equally ensure within the time frame that we have", he assured.
The Chairman assigned portfolios to his team and charged them to come up with blue prints that can be achieved in a short period. The Local Government Boss Chief Olusola Ajani Oke will oversee Works & Housing, Vice Chairman Princess Adedeji Fausat is to oversee Community Development, Education & Information Department while Mr. Femi Fatunmbi will oversee Health, Water & Environmental Services. Mr. Musbau Legitan is in charge of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Olalotan Oluwasegun is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Council.
The Chairman assured the people of Imeko-Afon quality service delivery and good governance. He therefore enjoined all and sundry to support this government by fulfilling their obligations as patriotic citizens. He affirmed that the new Government will run an open door system and carry all stakeholders along.
