Meet Dr. David, Director General, Nigerian Books of Record

DR. DAVID DAVID, DIRECTOR GENERAL,

NIGERIAN BOOKS OF RECORD

On 25th of April 2009, Dr David David founded an idea of celebrating Nigeria’s excellent records and laundering of Nigeria’s international image with Nigeria’s best. He researched and put together a compendium of everything good about Nigeria, so Nigerian Books of Record, NBR was conceived as a Book of Record in Nigeria synonymous to the Guinness Book of World Record.

On Thursday, September 8th, 2016, President Mohammadu Buhari appealed to all Nigerians during the official launch of the National Re-orientation Campaign at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja to support and be part of the ‘Change Begins With Me Campaign’. In respond to the clarion call, Dr David David’s Nigerian Books of Record vision of supporting the Government in laundering the Nigerian image by celebrating Nigeria’s excellent records was re-launch to drive the campaign of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture and National Orientation Agency, NOA of attitudinal re-orientation among Nigerians.

On the above premise, Nigerian Books of Record moved from a book to a research center where contents about Nigeria’s excellence, culture and people are usually unveil annually to celebrate Nigeria as a country and Nigerians as a people.

Nigerian Books of Record has a vision to launder the poor International Image of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with Nigeria’s Best. The Center also researches everything good about Nigeria, documents it into an official Compendium, and spread the good tidings to the whole world, emphasizing that Nigeria is not all about the bad news, with the rich compendium, Nigerian Books of Record as a proof.

Dr. David David is the current Director General/CEO of Nigerian Books of Record. All Nigerian Books of Record holders earned the honor on merit and form the Center prestigious circle of eminence. It comprises of credible Nigerians ranging from the political class to corporate Nigeria. From religious sector to technocrats and professionals. Nigerian Books of Record has sport legends as well as boundless entertainers.

Attitudinal re-orientation has for long been recognized as the best way to address the myriad of societal problems confronting the Nigerian society. The challenge of a new Nigeria, therefore, places a big responsibility on all of us as Nigerians to spread the message of value re-orientation and social harmony. NBR is out to launder the poor image of Nigeria with Nigeria’s best which led to the creation of the Compendium known today as Nigerian Books of Record, a unique encyclopedia of Nigerian excellent records.

Nigerian Books of Record Research Center had recognized the increasing need to identify influential and well-respected leaders who channeled their influence to creating positive impact in the lives of Nigerians.

The NBR encourages all Nigerians to appreciate and celebrate the good side of their country, which is the essence of Nigerian Books of Record as archives for Nigerian excellent records. It emphasis that, there is no place on earth we do not have the good and the bad people, but a few Achilles’ heel of some bad eggs is not enough to condemn a nation.

Given the current technology-driven nature of the global system and the emerging techno-lexicon of globalization, it is equally important to respond positively to such issue of national interest. The Institute maintains that, Nigeria is a beautiful land and her people are intelligent, full of perseverance and NBR holders are great examples of true Nigerians.

Unlike Guinness Book of Record, Nigerian Books of Record recognize and immortalize Nigerians who have made remarkable achievements in their chosen professional callings to break the gap between history and achievers in Nigeria.

Hardworking, zealous, industrious and selfless minds in the Nigerian societies are celebrated as ethic exemplars and are inducted into the Nigerian Books of Record. These inductees are elevated and positively positioned as role models for future generations to emulate their virtues and accentuates the value system of the Nigerian society.

The foregoing analogy is the philosophy behind the establishment of Nigerian Books of Record Research.
