Ogun West Crisis: Not all Egus, Hohoris are Nigerians - Yewa Awori Youth Council
President, Yewa Awori Youth Council, YAYC, Comrade Asiwaju Abayomi Oke has cleared the air on the insinuation that all the Egus and Hohoris are Yewa-Awori people and citizens of Nigeria, which they are not.
The clarification was forwarded to LeadNews, following the trending verbal and counter-verbal attacks on the comment made by the Chairman, Ogun State Peace Keeping Committee on Farmers-Herders Conflict, Honourable Kayode Oladele that the Eguns and Hohoris who flew Yewaland because of crisis are not Nigerians.
Comrade Oke while speaking to LeadNews cleared that Hon. Oladele was right, adding that there are tribes of Eguns and Hohoris in Yewaland that are true Nigerians, while many not all are Nigerians but came from other countries to hide under their tribes in Yewaland and those are the ones leaving the country to other countries they belong to.
Oke further explained to LeadNews that YAYC was aware of the external forces and sponsorship to divide the good people of Yewa-Awori, which is why some alleged cretins have decided to embarked on pull him down syndrome against the person of Hon. Oladele over his sincere and clear comment that not all Eguns and Hohoris are Nigerians.
Oke also condemed the act of verbal and counter-verbal attacks by the good people of Yewa on the remark made by Hon. Oladele, noting that such attacks can only divide people the more and give room for foreigners to perpetrate more criminal acts.
Also, Oke appealled to the people of Yewaland to team-up to shun anyone trying to hide under the insecurity in their land to divide the good people of Yewaland and concentrate in ensuring that peace is regained in Yewa communities.
Oke said; "I have read various reports of attacks against the person of Hon. Kayode Oladele, who is the Chairman, Ogun State Peace Keeping Committee on Herders-Farmers Conflict over his clear and sincere comment that not all Eguns and Hohoris are Nigerians".
"I want to say categorically that Hon. Oladele is right in his comment because some foreigners have truly came to the country without due process to hide under the tribes that they do not belong to and they are leaving us because of the insecurity that they were party to".
"Those attacks on Hon. Oladele are not needed because we all know the truth that not all Eguns and Hohoris are truly Yewa-Awori people neither are they Nigerians. Those attacking Hon. Oladele are either sponsored to divide the good people of Yewa-Awori or have no knowledge of the history of Yewaland. We know some of them".
"I want to appeal to the good people of Yewaland to desist from attacking each other and let us concentrate on ourselves in ensuring that peace is restored in our land, otherwise, foreigners will penetrate and divide us more, and they will run-away to their country whenever they are done".
